Lubricating of motors becomes absolutely necessary after long journeys. Servicing however, can be avoided if the truck is relatively new, i.e. less than a year old, but as time passes by, if the lubricating is delayed, the truck will not run smoothly, and the performance of the vehicle will be decrease significantly, or be much below optimum.

However, excessive lubricating of the truck may turn out to be harmful for the vehicle also. If the friction between the motorized parts is significantly reduced due to excessive use of lubricants, the truck may start jerking and start causing problems for the driver.

Therefore the truck lubricating service providers must be made aware of the age of the vehicle and its fuel consumption details, so that they can lubricate the parts only to the extent necessary. In other words, they should not over do it.
Also, the lubricant requirement of a particular vehicle has to be assessed. For e.g. a Toyota 16 Wheeler will obviously require less frequent lubrication compared to a local heavy duty country truck. The lubricating service providers are experienced and thus this does not generally pose a problem for truck owners.
